About this client/child:
Tom is a vibrant and happy 8-year-old with a fantastic sense of humour. He has tons of energy and thrives on activities such as skateboarding, swimming, acting and gaming. He is a big brother to his gorgeous 10-month-old sister who is very active. Tom has a diagnosis of Autism, PDA and anxiety. He experiences high levels of anxiety, sensory and behavioural difficulties which requires a fair, consistent, and kind approach. He is cognitively very bright and communicates well.

Overview of role:
The family are looking for a part time SEN Nanny who can become part of the family and work as a team alongside them. You will be responsible for organising activities for Tom, keeping him engaged and being an all-round support to the family. (Tom spends a lot of time at the skatepark and gaming – an interest in either of these would be a bonus!) Preparing healthy meals and accompanying him to playdates/parties is also important. There will be occasions where mum may need you to assist with her youngest too so having a flexible approach will be key. A car is provided for the SEN Nanny to use whilst on duty. The core hours will be either Saturday OR Sunday, however there will also be additional ad-hoc hours available on the other weekend day not worked (Saturday OR Sunday)..

Who this job would suit:
We are looking for a SEN Nanny with good autism and behaviour management experience. You must be very calm, patient, able to handle meltdowns confidently and decisively (at home and also in public). Always two steps ahead with a pro-active approach, you will have excellent experience with this age group on the autistic spectrum. The right candidate will "muck in" with family life, running errands, household chores etc. A genuine interest in working with autistic children is a must.

What’s great about this job:
This will be a very rewarding position where you can make a positive impact of Tom’s development and family life on a whole. The family are incredibly friendly and open and want to find someone they can work well with who can become part of their team.
