Sadie is a vibrant and happy 6 year old girl, with a good sense of humour. She has lots of energy and thrives on activities such as dancing, singing and swimming. She also loves role play and has an active imagination. Sadie has a diagnosis of Autism, with Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) and Sensory Processing Disorder. She experiences high levels of anxiety, sensory and behavioural difficulties which requires a fair, consistent and kind approach. The situation at home has become difficult to manage and Sadie is currently unable to regulate her emotions and the family are dealing with extreme emotional meltdowns on a daily basis.
The family are looking for a *female Family Support Worker who can give them much needed respite and support. This will include taking and collecting Sadie from school, spending time with her after school, either playing with her at home or arranging activities outside of the house. During the weekend Sadie loves to explore, so there will be lots of opportunity to arrange activities further afield.
The family are looking for someone who can commit long-term so Sadie can build a good bond with them to ultimately help reduce her anxiety and over-dependence on her parents. The family are working with a highly experienced Early Interventions Consultant (who work with Snap) who will liaise with the SEN Family Support Worker on strategies and techniques.
The ideal person for this rewarding role, will have a good imagination, be very animated and fun to be around. Sadie needs someone with energy and a creative yet therapeutic approach. This is an amazing opportunity to support Sadie through her daily challenges, support her parents and in turn have a positive impact on family life as a whole. For more information please contact Rachael at Snap who has met this welcoming family.
