Days & Hours: Monday to Friday, 4.00pm to 8.00pm, Saturday or Sunday, 8 hours per day and also extra hours available during the holidays. Job share available

A great opportunity is now available to join a care package providing 1:1 support to our client Toby. This package has part-time flexible positions available during the week, weekends and school holidays. Toby, 9 is a loving and affable youngster with a love for music and horse riding. He sustained a brain injury when he was 1 year old and as a result has complex additional needs however he has been working very hard on his rehabilitation since and is growing in confidence!
Toby’s acquired brain injury affects his communication, independence, mobility and behaviour. Toby has high sensory needs and can often become anxious and distressed. He has some vocal communication and uses signs to support this. Toby requires support with all daily tasks such as personal care and supervision whilst eating. Although he is mobile he is unsteady on his feet so assistance is required here too.
Toby is a busy bee and enjoys lots of different activities, he has a busy schedule and is at the heart of a busy family home. We are looking for a support worker / carer who will promote Toby’s independence and provide lots of support and encouragement to reach his full potential. As part of your role you will organize fun, educational and age appropriate activities for Toby to enjoy with family, peers and his care team.
This role will suit a person with previous experience within this type of role. Working with children with special education needs is essential and within a family setting. Confident driver and swimmer is also essential for this post.
