About this client/child:

Lucy is quite laid back and likes to, with adult facilitated, movement with music. Lucy’s favourite music at the moment is Reggae! Lucy also loves listening to audiobooks. When new Support Workers come on board, Lucy is a little suspicious, but she likes listening to the chatter around her. Once she gets to know you, expect dirty looks when you come back off your holidays. She is very cheeky and a real hoot! Lucy has quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy, profound and multiple learning disabilities, is registered blind and has type 1 diabetes; client-specific training can be given via diabetic nurse or mum. Lucy is totally dependent on others to meet all her care needs. She has epilepsy but her seizures are mild and controlled. Lucy is PEG fed but can have tasters. There are hoists in place and Lucy has her own bedroom and bathroom.
Overview of role:
Morning routine during term time is getting Lucy up and ready for the bus, after school, a little bit of down time and then bath and bed.
