£18.00 gross per hour.  Reliable, positive and enthusiastic Support Worker / PA / Buddy to support Josh, 12, in Oxted

Start Date: ASAP
Days & Hours: 2:45pm - 6.30pm Monday to Friday. We are happy for a minimum of 3 afternoons to be worked per week. 
Family pets: The family may be getting an assistance dog

Josh, 12, in a very active young chap, whose favourite activities include swimming, trampolining, cycling, soft play and playgrounds, playing on his computer and iPad, watching TV and train rides! Josh has severe autism, learning disability, presents with challenging behaviour and has multiple and severe food allergies, for which he carries an epipen.

The job will involve school drop off and pick-ups (the schools is a 30 minute drive away from Josh’s house) and accompanying Josh to before and after school activities. In this position you will be involved in aspects of behavioural management, assist with personal care as well as medication administration.

This role will suit a patient, kind and energetic support worker who has previous experience with autism and challenging behaviour. You must be a good communicator; although Josh is verbal he does lack some functional language such as communicating when he is feeling unwell / in pain. You will be organised and plan activities in advance, liaising with Mum however it is important that you bring your own ideas and creativity. A driver and a swimmer are essential.
