£16.00 Gross per Hour. Support Worker / Buddy position available working with a fabulous 12-year-old in the GU6 area. Permanent, part-time contract.

 

 

 

 

Title: Support Worker / Buddy | GU6
Location: Cranleigh, Surrey, GU6
Nearest Train Station: Guildford, buses from Guildford regularly
Wage / Salary: £16.00 Gross per Hour
Driver required? Essential
Use of a car? On duty, manual drive
Essential: Experience supporting a client with Autism Spectrum Condition, awareness of Makaton / PECS, confident swimmer,  on the DBS update service or willing to obtain a new certificate
Start Date: ASAP
Days & Hours: One Saturday or Sunday a month 1.30 pm – 6.00pm  School holidays Christmas 6 days Summer, 18 days, Easter 6 days, three half-terms a year three days needed for each half-term, hours 4/5 hours daily
Family Pets: Yes 1 cat and 1 dog

About this client:

Our lovely client Belle is 12 years old and lives at home in Cranleigh with Mum, Dad and sisters. Belle is diagnosed with autism spectrum condition, her understanding of language is supported by people using Makaton she uses PECs to express her communication needs.   Belle is an active young lady, who loves swimming, going to the park, walking in the woods and adores horses.

Overview of the role:

Belle attends a specialist school and requires additional support at the weekends and school holidays. In this role, you’ll provide practical and emotional support whilst continually promoting Belle’s independence, self-help skills and enabling her to engage in activities such as swimming. Belle requires assistance with all personal care duties.
