Wage / Salary: £13.00 gross per hour weekdays | £15.00 gross per hour weekends
Driver required? Preferable
Use of a car? On duty
Essential or Desired Experience: Supporting an adult with additional needs / epilepsy
Start Date: August 15th 2017 – 1st September 2017
Days & Hours: 10 to 12 hours days, depending on what Jen and her family have planned
Jen is a charming woman who loves being around her family, listening to classical music, picking flowers from the garden and watching a few select films - several times! Jen is 43, she has learning difficulties so presents as someone much younger. Jen has no sense of danger and epilepsy, close supervision is required at all times. Being unsteady on her feet Jen is likely to lose balance, she can have drop seizures, so those caring for her need to be vigilant and attentive.
This is a warm and lively household with plenty going on. The Support Worker will spend 1:1 time with Jen and be an extra pair of hands to give the family a little respite. Jen needs assistance with her personal care, including dressing and washing. This is a full on position however it is for a short period of time, we would like the candidate to give it their all for the week / weeks they are supporting this family.
This role will suit someone who is energetic, bubbly and able to build rapport with people quickly. A wonderful opportunity to work with a fantastic lady and a lovely family. The family are offering a lovely, private bedroom with en suite facilities for the Support Worker.
