Our client is seeking support for Simon, a delightful boy aged 8 who enjoys calming, sensory activities and swimming. Simon has complex needs, including cerebral palsy and epilepsy and tires easily. Simon is fed and receives medication, via a gastrostomy and requires help with all activities of daily living.

You will work as part of Simon’s team to support him and his family. You will have the opportunity to work alongside a treating therapy team to provide the best care and enable Simon to progress with his rehabilitation goals. This role will suit support workers who can be flexible in their working pattern to ensure Simon’s needs are met within the team. Simon lives in the Barham area of Ipswich and applicants will ideally live within a 5-mile radius.

While some experience with children with disabilities is required, there will be excellent training opportunities with this job, including Epilepsy management, medicine administration, manual handling, hoists, pump feed, gastrostomy and Basic Life Support.

If you would like to join Simon’s dedicated team, please send your CV and a brief supporting statement that includes an overview of your relevant experience, your start date / notice period and why this job is of interest to you. We’ll then forward your application for our client’s consideration.
