Joseph who is 11 years old has ADHD. He is a bright, hospitable and charming young boy who will keep you on your toes intellectually and creatively. Joseph lives at home with his gorgeous 3 year old brother Thomas, who he loves to keep entertained. Joseph attends a specialist school for children with specific learning difficulties and is due to start regular after school clubs and music therapy. Joseph enjoys listening to his music on his earphones, playing “Minecraft” on his iPad and tasty desserts (Thomas likes to follow suit). Thomas is adorable and reaching his development milestones well.
Organisation and time-management for Joseph is key to promoting a self-regulating routine. Joseph is a confident boy who can be impulsive at times and has exceptional negotiating skills; therefore the nanny will need to be the adult in the room at all times and someone who is able to logically motivate and re-direct him so Joseph remains on task. Maintaining a positive fun approach whilst upholding boundaries and implementing structured routine is essential. The nanny will need to be calm and understanding to Joseph’s high and low emotional experiences; helping him find the right tools to self- manage.
Whilst Joseph is at school the nanny will be with Thomas throughout the day engaging him in reaching his developmental markers through entertaining activities. You will be someone who is self-contained, consistent and confident, with a genuine interest in children who have ADHD; able to build a balanced fun relationship with both boys.
The family would like someone who is flexible to work an additional two Saturdays per month as well as the full-time hours and be able to go away with them on holiday or remain in the family home with the two boys during the parents’ overseas business trips. For further information please speak to Janet who is working with this lovely SNAP family.
