Title: Rehabilitation *Male Support Worker
Location: South Woodford, E18
Nearest Tube/Station: South Woodford
Wage: Week: £14.00 gross per hour Weekend: £16.00 gross per hour
Driver required? Essential with clean driving license
Use of a car? On Duty, automatic
Essential: NVQ in social care or equivalent, at least 3 years’ experience supporting disabled clients, non-smoker and must be computer literate.
Start Date: ASAP
Days & Hours: Monday to Friday 9.30 am to 5.30 pm (The family would consider the role to be split into two part time roles so please enquire).

About this client/child:
Ali is a 28 year old young man who enjoys football, swimming, cycling, the gym and music. Ali has an ABI due to a vitamin D deficiency from when he was 12 years old. He is unable to weight bear and uses a manual wheelchair. He also has type 1 diabetes and is epileptic. His condition is well controlled via the use of medication.

Overview of role:
We are looking for two *male rehabilitation Support Workers to assist and motivate Ali to live safely within his busy family household and to access to the community. You will support him with on-going rehabilitation programmes and work alongside therapists and other health professionals. A degree of flexibility will be required as on occasion Ali will want to attend evening activities, such as meals out or going to the cinema. There will also be the potential to work on a Saturday from May 2020.

This job would suit someone who has experience of brain injury and support work. You must be happy to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and be a good team player.
