About this client: Where to begin describing the fabulous Rosie…first, she could easily run her own comedy gig with her quick wit, fiery one liners and dry sense of humour; second, she is an independent, creative young woman, surrounded by a incredibly supportive family and third, has a long list of hobbies and interests, including horse riding, going to the pub, dining out with friends, knitting and swimming – and she is always looking for new activities to add to her list! Rosie is 22, lives at home with her family (a very busy household). She has Cerebral Palsy and a learning disability and requires support with accessing activities, planning, and organising. Rosie is an engaging and fun-loving young woman and lives life to the full. She is aware that in certain situations she is vulnerable and welcomes additional support to continue to live life as she wishes.

Overview of role: Rosie has a PA supporting her during the week, and now there is an opening for a new team member to join and assist with her weekend plans.  Each day will be different depending on what is planned and in Rosie’s diary, some weekends will be focused on horse riding and swimming, whilst others will be dedicated to Rosie catching up with friends. The Support Worker / PA will bring different ideas, activities and research events that Rosie might like to explore. In the future Rosie would love to be able to plan weekends away. The Support Worker / PA will be intuitive, knowing when to step in or step back, ensuring Rosie’s independence is promoted at all times, and stepping into an advocacy role when required. Rosie’s house is a busy family home, with her siblings, nieces and nephews coming around regularly – you must be comfortable working in a busy environment. You are not required to work every weekend unless you have the availability, and shift times depend on what activities are planned for that day.

Who this job would suit: An outgoing, confident, fun and personable *female Support Worker / PA with a great sense of humour – someone who can match Rosie’s wit! A driver with their own car is essential, along with being confident supporting Rosie walking her dogs or going horse riding. An ideal role for someone starting work as a Support Worker, or an experienced Support Worker / PA or a teaching assistant seeking additional income.

What’s great about this job: Working with Rosie will be an absolute pleasure, she is a fun loving, gregarious young lady with a love for life. You will receive excellent ongoing support, supervision and training provided by Rosie’s case management team, along with additional working hours if desired. A truly rewarding role, supporting a fabulous young lady with a zest for life.
