About this client:
Our client James is 15 years old, he lives at home with his Mum, Dad and two younger sisters. James is a highly intelligent, outgoing and charming young man. He has a wide range of interests and hobbies, including listening to music, writing poetry and baking. James is currently campaigning for a better education system for students with additional needs and he writes a blog – an incredible young man. Due to a traumatic birth, James sustained Global Brain Damage, as a result, he has complex medical needs and requires assistance with all areas of personal and self-care, has a gastrostomy PEG and is dependent on a ventilator during the night.  James is an extremely eloquent young man and uses a spelling board to communicate.

Overview of role:
The Support Worker will be part of a team working alongside Mum in a very busy household: part of this role is also to support James at school, working as his communicator partner. This role offers 36 hours per week, working full days, afternoons and weekends. You will be required to support James on trips away and provide some occasional waking night support. The family and James need a Support Worker that is willing to muck in as and when required with all tasks but also know when to step back to allow the family quality time together.

Who this job would suit:
It is essential that you are a confident driver as James has a large automatic vehicle, and are a nonsmoker/vaper.  The Support Worker will be fun, positive, engaging, reliable and willing to make a long-term commitment to this role.
