A challenging, but rewarding position is now available for an exceptional senior support worker to help manage the care provision for a young man. Jamie, 12, is a fun-loving, engaging and mischievous chap who enjoys bike rides, swimming and playing games with his siblings. Jamie has cerebral palsy, is a wheelchair user and communicates using his computer; he requires support with all his care needs. Everyone who meets Jamie is quite captivated by him; he is a pleasure to work with.
The role involves working with the parents to ensure that appropriate care is provided for Jamie within the family home. You’ll ensure he receives the care, play, education and therapy support he requires as instructed by his therapists. Typical duties include arranging rota’s, writing and updating care plans, booking training and other administrative tasks. In addition to the above tasks, you’ll also provide 1:1 support to Jamie. He is a very bright, independent and determined young man who knows what he wants and is very capable of expressing his needs.
This job will suit a dedicated, confident and passionate support worker who wants to make a real difference to this young man’s life. A strong communicator, who is personable, empathetic and understanding. Jamie requires a strong and robust senior support worker who will be his advocate. A person he can have lots of fun with whilst continually promoting his independence and giving the encouragement he needs to reach his full potential.
*Term time Monday to Friday 4.00 pm – 9.00 pm
School holidays and Weekends: Monday – Sunday 9.00 am – 9.00 pm
On-call Nights: Monday to Sunday 9.00pm – 9.00am (7.00am – 9.00am morning routine)
