Sophie is 12, she has a brother aged 10 and younger sister aged 2. Sophie is charismatic, bright and able child with a physical disability, cerebral palsy.

We are seeking a suitably educated, reliable, pro-active and motivated individual to work with Sophie and her family. Your role is to enable Sophie to reach her potential despite her physical challenges. You will be expected to support her with her education/homework, implement Sophie’s therapeutic programs and enable her to access activities after school with her brother. Sophie attends mainstream school and continues to remain competitive with her peers academically. Due to her physical challenges Sophie struggles with tasks that require fine motor skills such as feeding herself, note taking and personal care. Sophie can walk short distances within the family home but requires close supervision due to her uneven gait as she is prone to falls.  Sophie uses a powered wheelchair at school and is in the process of trialing a portable power chair for accessing the community.

Sophie is a sociable, bright, and outgoing young person. She enjoys trips out with her friends, food technology, horse riding and swimming. We are looking for someone with an interest in researching and implementing fun and varied activities in the school holiday’s. There are funds available to cover exciting trips out for Sophie.
