Oscar is a charming, active and engaging 9-year-old. He loves playing with Playmobil, Minecraft, trains and board games. Oscar has cerebral palsy, uses an electric wheelchair and needs assistance with all aspects of personal care and transfers. He is non-verbal but can very clearly express his likes and dislikes. Oscar communicates via signs and an AAC computer.  His twin brother Oliver, loves Lego and trains and like his brother enjoys playing board games and watching Blue Planet DVD. Oliver can get frustrated and angry, and you’ll use your skills to help him to manage his behaviour.

The role is supporting both boys during their morning and after-school routine; assisting with Oscar’s personal care, meal preparation, homework and playing and of course having lots fun! During the school holidays there is more time to organise activities and outings. While boys are at school, you’ll help with dog walking and light housekeeping duties.  You’ll need a good understanding of cerebral palsy and extensive experience with children with challenging behaviour.

This exciting position to work with a warm, friendly and lively family will suit someone who has a sincere interest in working with children with SEN. An active, kind and fun SEN Nanny/Manny who will meet the boys’ individual needs and build a trusting and engaging relationship with both children.  If you are interested please send your CV and cover letter to
