Alexander is a sweet, affectionate loving 10 year old boy.  He has Dravet syndrome which presents with multiple seizures and developmental delay causing difficulties with language and motor skills. (More information given at Snap interview stage). Alexander also has autism and has a peg button in place mainly for his medication. Alexander requires regular morning and evening medicine and occasionally emergency medication to resolve his seizures.

Alexander loves and thrives from doing lots of different activities. A typical start to a school free day for Alexander can be asking ‘Alexa for his favourite nursery rhythms, breakfast, medication and then out! There are lots of green spaces in his local area; park and slide, swimming, trampolining, general racing about town. Energy aplenty is essential! Alexander currently attends a local primary school so you walk him to and from school in his wheelchair.

This job will suit someone who has worked within a small team set up, (Alexander has a small but very loyal team supporting him), and is comfortable to work both alone and alongside one or both parents.

This is a super opportunity for someone looking for a long-term position, someone who is confident and has a sincere interest in working with a child with such diverse needs as Alexander. Contact Janet at Snap for more information on this brilliant family who are well known to Snap.
