Wage / Salary: £15.00 gross per hour
Driver required? Essential
Use of a car? Will need own car, mileage paid when used on duty.
Essential: At least 2 years SEN experience and must be confident working with therapists
Desired: Good understanding of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBA)
Start Date: ASAP
Days & Hours: Term Time: Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 9.30am & 4.00pm to 7.30pm School Holidays: Two full days 10.00am to 7.30pm (Possibility of days extending in the future).


 

Jasmine aged 9 has a dynamic personality with a cheeky and playful character. She has lots of energy and will capture you with her beaming smile! Jasmine loves singing, dancing, playing with her dolls and arts and crafts. Jasmine had a Traumatic brain injury as a result of a road traffic accident in September 2015.

As Jasmine’s family support worker, you will be involved in supporting Jasmine both in the home and the community. During the morning you’ll prepare breakfast and make sure Jasmine has everything required for the day. You will then take Jasmine, her brother and sister to school which is about a 5-minute drive.

During the afternoon there’s plenty of opportunity to be involved with Jasmine’s therapy programs. Full training will be provided by the therapists to ensure you are confident to carrying set programs. A key area of focus will be to continue promoting Jasmine’s independence and supporting her with prompting. You’ll also help encourage positive interactions between Jasmine and her siblings. On occasions the family may require additional support with hospital or therapy appointments, these will be given with advanced warning.

This job will suit someone who is has lots of energy as you will need to keep up with Jasmine! You must also be confident, reliable and organised. Mum really appreciates people who are upfront and honest, so this is an important trait to have for this role.
