£13.00+ gross per hour. Energetic and creative support worker required to work with Katie (18) on Saturdays and 2 sleep in night per week

Wage / Salary: £13.00 gross per hour weekdays | £14.00 gross per hour weekends
Driver required? Essential
Use of a car? On duty
Essential Experience: No specific experience, can-do attitude is essential
Start Date: ASAP
Days & Hours: Every Saturday: Week 1 8:00am to 8:00pm | Week 2 12:00pm to 8:00pm | Week 3 8:00am to 5:00pm | Week 4 12:00pm and 8:00pm and 2 Sleep in nights of 10 hours per week on a rolling rota

Katie is a glorious girl, with a bubbly and sociable personality who loves music, drama, art and getting out and about to her weekly youth club and music club. Katie has an acquired brain injury with associated learning disabilities and uses Makaton to supplement her spoken language. It is important for someone to have a good command of the English language in order to encourage Katie with her language development. Katie is a wheelchair user (power chair and manual) and can steer and propel independently. Katie needs adult support with all of her personal care and monitoring her fluid intake as she takes daily manage diabetes insipidus.

The support worker will assist Katie with achieving her therapy goals and enjoying life to the full. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a friendly multidisciplinary team and the family are looking for a creative and quirky candidate who has a true passion for caring and supporting young adults with special needs.
