About this client/child:
Tom is a 10-year-old cheeky chap who lives a full and active life and enjoys a range of activities from hydrotherapy to arts and crafts and exploring the great outdoors! He is friendly, sociable and an absolute pleasure to work with and support. Tom has cerebral palsy, is a wheelchair user and has a gastrostomy peg for his feed. As a result of his complex care and medical needs, Tom requires support to meet all his care needs and requires an experienced On-Call Night Carer to join his small care team.
Overview of role:
As On-Call Night Carer you will support Tom with all aspects of his night routine, getting him ready for bed, setting up his bedroom and sleep system, ensuring he is comfortable and settling him to sleep. As this is an On-Call Night you can then go to bed, however, you will need to be alert to Tom waking during the night via a CCTV monitor. He can have settled nights but is often disturbed a couple of times and can take time to settle back down; he may need repositioning to help him drift back off to sleep. In the morning, you will assist with the usual routine and help get Tom ready for school. The rate of pay for Sunday is £115.50 and Monday is £108.50 gross per shift.
