About this client/child:
Our client Sarah is 23 years old; she is an outgoing, sociable, and bright young lady. Sarah lives independently with the support of her care team in a fully adapted annexe, joined to her family home. Sarah has cerebral palsy, she is a wheelchair user, has a gastrostomy PEG in situ for her medication and enjoys a modified diet orally. Sarah is totally dependent on others to meet all her needs. Sarah has good receptive understanding and communicates using communication aids and non-verbal responses.

Overview of role:
The Team Leader will manage a small team of support workers who provide 1:1 support ensuring Sarah lives her life independently. Typical Team Lead duties include completing rotas, managing timesheets, petty cash, stock levels, and medication as well as diary and appointments, arranging training and completing supervisions for team members etc. You will work in collaboration with Sarah, her family, case manager and MDT to meet care and therapeutic needs. There are 8 hours set aside each week for Team Leader admin duties and the rest of the hours you will have the opportunity to work 1:1 with Sarah. You’ll provide hands-on practical support assisting Sarah with all aspects of her care plan, therapy programmes, daily routine and personal care needs. You will enable and empower her to access appropriate activities in the community, explore new hobbies and interests and continually promote her self-help and independence skills. Hours: Monday, Thursday and Friday from 4.00 pm to 9.00 pm. (admin hours can be added to these shifts) and one Saturday and two Sunday per month, each 12-hour shifts. Pay rates: £15.00 weekdays £16.00 weekends and £17.00 bank holidays. Rates are gross per hour.

An experienced Female* Team Leader, who is highly organised and reliable, with excellent communication skills. It is essential that the Team Leader is confident driving an adapted, automatic vehicle.
