Essential: Experience supporting a young adult with a physical disability
Start Date: ASAP – Permanent full-time contracts
Days & Hours: Shifts are 12 hours 15 minutes. 15 minutes are for handover. Start and Finish time: 9.00 pm – 9:15 am 3.5 shifts per week on average.
Family/Client Pets: Yes 2 dogs, one of which is an assistance dog

About this client:
Our client Leah is 19 years old, a bright and kind young woman with a passion for stand-up comedy, theatre and baking. Leah sustained an acquired brain injury in her early teens, as a result, she has a physical disability and is a wheelchair user, and has complex medical needs including a permanent tracheostomy and catheter (training provided). Leah lives at home with her family in a fully adapted house. We are recruiting a female* Waking Night Carer to provide assistance for Leah throughout the night.

Overview of the role:
A dynamic role to support a wonderful young woman, Leah requires support with all aspects of her night routine, care plan, personal care needs, moving and handling, monitoring and assisting during the night. Training is provided in all aspects of Leah’s care needs. This role is all about empowering and enabling Leah whilst meeting all of her needs.

Who this job would suit:
The successful Waking Night Carer will be dynamic, creative, energetic, positive, and bubbly and share similar interests. A Waking Night Carer with a love of animals as Leah has 2 dogs that she absolutely adores. We are looking for team members that live on or willing to relocate to the Isle of Wight, confident drivers and can commit to a full-time contract.
