Days & Hours: Guaranteed 35 hours a week, including weekdays and weekends. Term Time: 7.00am to 9.30am & 5.00pm to 9.00pm Holidays & Weekends: 7.00am or 9.00am to 9.00pm. Degree of flexibility will be required.

Finn aged 16 has a big personality and is a ton of fun to be around. He has a great sense of humour and is a sharp and intelligent young man. He is currently attending College which he thoroughly enjoys. Finn has dystonic quadriplegic cerebral palsy which affects his mobility and speech. He communicates using an ACC device and is very good at making his needs known. Finn is very age appropriate and enjoys being around adult company.
This SEN Personal Assistant role is centred on supporting Finn through his personal care, routines, supporting him when he is out and about on day trips, ensuring he is taking part, happy and having fun! There is 2:1 staffing at all times. The house is fully adapted for all Finn’s needs, including a full sized swimming pool and Jacuzzi, which he enjoys making the most of. You must be willing to assist with swimming, outdoor activities and like animals.
Banter flies thick and fast in this busy house and Finn loves to be a part of it. The SEN Personal Assistant will need to be quick witted and have a good sense of humour! While it is important Finn is having fun at home, you will need to be able to switch to professional mode in an instant as the seriousness of Finn’s physical situation is not to be underestimated. He receives regular therapeutic input which you also play a part in.
This role offers the opportunity to ensure Finn really enjoys his free time, keeping a smile on his face will be one of your top priorities! The ability to establish a strong connection with this fantastic young man will go a long way, you will be providing companionship as well as a day to day support. The family travel to Florida every year, plus mini breaks throughout the year, so having flexibility to travel with the family is really important.
