About this client/child:
Our client Paul is a 20-year-old physically disabled young man studying a degree Loughborough University. He is also a parathlete, training and competing in the England team. Paul enjoys spending time with his family, meeting up with friends, going clubbing and travelling abroad. During term time he lives in halls at Loughborough University and during the holidays with his family near St Neots in Cambridgeshire, so is looking for PA who would be willing to commute when required.
Overview of the role:
As Paul’s Personal Assistant (PA), you’ll promote independence, facilitate and enable Paul to live his life as his wishes; supporting him with therapy/sports programmes, on-court sport assistance, training, study, socialising, interpreting, travelling and tending to all his care needs. Whilst on shift you will work a mixture of days and sleeping nights. Paul sometimes requires assistance at night so needs to be able to call on his PA if he does.
Who this job would suit:
You’ll need to have excellent communication skills and you must speak English clearly as Paul requires support to communicate if others do not understand him. It is essential that you are interested in sports, energetic and have the ability to keep up with Paul’s busy lifestyle. You must be a non-smoker, confident driver and swimmer.
What’s great about this job:
Paul is at a very exciting time in his life and sports career, you’ll be part of a fantastic team. References and enhanced DBS checks will be obtained. Interviews times to be mutually agreed.
