Location: Exeter, EX5 Only 15 minutes from Exeter, Crediton, Tiverton
Nearest Train Station: Crediton, Exeter
Wage / Salary: £12.00 gross per hour
Driver required? Essential
Use of a car? No will need own car
Experience: Physical disability ideally, but full training provided
Start Date: September 2017
Hours: School holidays up to 22 hours a week, term-time average 18 hours a week plus alternate Saturdays or Sundays. The family can be flexible!
Michael is a bright 12 year old who has a wide range of interests including horse riding, cycling, playing the piano and learning French. Michael has cerebral palsy and requires assistance for his physical needs. He communicates through facial expressions and a Liberator.
The position offers full training and supervision in a fully-adapted house. Days of work can be flexible and you’ll also have the opportunity to spend time with Michael’s 2 younger mainstream siblings.
This job will suit someone who would like to join a small but loyal team to help provide the best opportunities and care for Michael.
You will have the opportunity to work with a fantastic young man and learn invaluable skills such as physiotherapy and Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) and really make a difference to Michael’s life!
