Up to £13.50 gross per hour. Caring and experienced Part time Support Worker to work with Jack, 18 in Warrington

 

 

 

 

Title:Part Time Support Worker| Warrington, WA3 
Location: 
Warrington, WA3
Nearest Train Station: Warrington
Wage: £12.00 gross per hour weekdays, £13.50 gross per hour weekends
Driver required? Essential 
Use of a car? Must have an own car for getting to and from work
Essential Experience: Working with a young adult with physical disabilities, supporting a client in family environment 
Start Date: ASAP 
Days & Hours: Monday to Friday 6:30am- 8:30am, Friday 1.00pm – 6.00pm 

Jack, 18, is an active and sociable young man who enjoys going clothes shopping, loves music and watching live bands at the local pub, using his IPad. Jack has cerebral palsy affecting all 4 limbs. As a result, he is unable to walk, and his muscle tone fluctuates from being stiff to being floppy. Jack is non-verbal but is very bright and has a fabulous sense humour and loves “banter” amongst family, friends and his peers. His medication and fluids are administered via PEG. 

The role involves supporting Jack at home and in the community. Jack needs assistance with all aspect of personal care, getting ready for school, assistance with medications and PEG feeding, and to be driven to and accompanied  to activities and appointments. 

You must be confident to implement strategies and programmes recommended by other healthcare professionals and therapists. You must have excellent communication skills, be friendly and approachable. 

This job will suit a confident, positive and caring support worker who has previous experience working with young adults with physical disabilities.
