£15.00 gross per hour. Experienced and confident part time support worker for Archie (12) who has Acquired brain injury and autism.

Days & Hours:Monday, Tuesday  4.00pm – 10.00 pm, and 4.00 pm – 8.00pm additional hours available at weekends and during school holidays 

We are looking for a calm, experienced and confident support worker to assist Archie (12) after school. Archie is a charming boy who enjoys watching music videos on his iPad, jumping on the trampoline, riding bikes and being outside. He has an Acquired Brain Injury and a diagnosis of autism.

Archie has limited verbal communication and uses some Makaton. Although he is usually happy and affectionate, he can present with challenging behaviour and become impulsive (pulling hair or pushing). You’ll need be fit, strong and vigilant to ensure Archie's safety, especially when outside.

The role consists of 2 afterschool shifts with possibility of extra weekend and holiday hours. You will support Archie during his after-school routine; assisting with personal care, dinner, playing and/or going out for a walk and accessing activities. Archie attends a special needs school which he is taken to and collected from by local authority transport.

This truly rewarding position would suit a confident and calm person with extensive experience with children or young adults with ASD and communication difficulties.
