Days & Hours: Hampstead: Thursday 4.00pm – 8.00pm Stoke Newington: Alternate Saturdays 12.00pm – 6.00pm.

About this client/child:
John is a charming and charismatic 13-year-old. He loves being active, going for walks and to the park, watching trains, jumping on the trampoline and going on his trike. John is autistic and has processing sensory disorder. He has limited verbal communication and uses gestures. John requires support with his daily activities and social skills. Although John is normally happy and affectionate, when frustrated he can present with behaviour that may challenge: he can be unsettled by changes in his routine and needs to be informed about changes in advance. You’ll need be fit, strong and vigilant to ensure John's safety, especially when outside.
Overview of role:
John attends a specialist school and is making great progress out and about in the community. You will support John during his after-school routine; assisting with personal care, having dinner, playing and/or going out for a walk and accessing activities. Swimming is one of John's favourite activities and you will be required to take him swimming. During the school holidays you will organise fun activities and outings. John’s parents live separately and you will support him in both homes.
