Nearest Train Station: Bradford on Avon
Wage: £11.00 – 12.00 gross per hour depending on experience, Meals provided
Driver required? Preferable
Use of a car? On duty, own car preferable
Essential: Previous childcare experience, interest in childhood psychology
Desirable: Experience of mental health challenges, working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, adoption
Start Date: ASAP
Days & Hours: Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 8.00am – 5.00pm, (hours and days can be negotiable)
Family Pets: Small dog, guinea pigs, hamsters

Ella, 11 and Isla 10, are sweet girls who enjoy horse riding, swimming and enjoy playing with their pets. They both have significant emotional and behavioral difficulties and can present with behavioral that may challenge. They are being home educated due to their complex mental health needs. Some issues around self-identity have arisen, so being able to help build their self-esteem is important.
We are looking for a kind and emotionally resilient female* Family Support worker who can work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, work closely alongside mum but also engage with girls on 1:1 basis.

Your role will be to support the girls with the morning routine, assist them to participate in leisure activities such as swimming, encouraging learning activities and supporting any psychological and sensory therapeutic programmes.  You will build a trusting relationship with both children, support and prioritise the attachment between the parents and the girls and focus on building their self-esteem by use of praise and promoting positive choices.

This is a very interesting position which will suit someone who can hit the ground running and who has a genuine interest in child development and psychology. You should be an empathetic, focused and emotionally resilient person ready to guide these lovely sisters through their teenage years. Training will be provided as well as regular supervision sessions with mum and the other family support worker.
