£12.00 gross per hour. Part Time SEN Buddy Support Worker to work with Dan aged 8 who has Cerebral Palsy.
 


Location: Swindon, SN4
Nearest Train Station: Swindon Station
Wage / Salary: £12.00 gross per hour
Driver required? Yes, Essential (Preferably with 2 years driving experience)
Use of a car? You will need your own car, mileage paid
Essential: Personal Care, experience with working with children with a learning or physical disability.
Desired Experience: Diploma or NVQ level 2/3 in Children’s Care or equivalent.
Start Date: ASAP
Days & Hours: Term Time: Monday to Friday 3.45 pm to 6.45 pm School Holiday: 30 hours, over 5 days, to be used flexibly with two days off.

Snap are delighted to be working in association with this client. The client will be dealing with all the recruitment, including shortlisting and interviews and is supported by a case management company.

Dan aged 8 is a cheerful, attentive and engaging little boy who loves to read books, listen to stories and play games. He has cerebral palsy and requires some extra help with certain tasks, due to his condition. Dan is mobile; however, he requires assistance to walk indoors and occasionally uses a walking frame. He tires easily outdoors so uses a buggy for longer distances. He is an academically bright child with lots of interests but can find writing challenging. He attends a local mainstream primary school, where he has dedicated support time.

Dan will have a package of therapeutic care to include physiotherapy and occupational therapy which the buddy support worker will be actively be involved in implementing, following training. The buddy support worker may be involved in the bedtime routine and also carry out light household tasks and food preparation.

This job will suit someone who is fun, confident and proactive to work with Dan and his younger sisters aged 5 and 2. Someone with flexibility to attend outings and holidays is important to allow Dan to access all of his interests.
