David, 8, is a funny and inquisitive little boy who enjoys a laugh and it great fun to be around. His mum, Laura, has a severely physically debilitating disorder that affects every aspect of her life, including her ability to physically care for David at times. We are looking for a compassionate and mature Nanny/ PA who can step in and fulfil some of the roles Laura is unable to perform.
The role will involve engaging with the whole family, looking after David, housekeeping and helping Laura. Daily activities include getting David ready for school, swimming, helping with his homework, organizing fun games and activities and making sure David follows his bed-time routine (making sure he brushes his teeth properly!) There will also be some shopping, keeping the living areas tidy, planning and preparing meals, as well as ordering prescriptions, preparing heat and ice packs for Laura and making sure that her mobility scooter is charged and ready to use. Laura will need support during the day, especially with attending hospital appointments and some personal care.
This job will suit an organised and practical Nanny / Family PA who can join a busy household and assist with its smooth running. For this job, you need to have experience and an understanding of how a physical disability can affect family life. We particularly welcome applications from candidates who have cared for a family member with a disability.
You will be joining a small friendly team who will welcome a warm and upbeat colleague who will really get stuck in and continue to support David’s and Laura’s well-being.
Contact Kamila who has met this family for more information or send your CV and a supporting statement to apply.
Please note, whilst Snap endeavour to reply to all applications, some of our positions are so popular this is not possible and only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
