Oscar 5, has oodles of energy and loves imaginative and creative play – especially role play and Playmobil. Oscar has dyskinetic cerebral palsy, gastro-oesophageal reflux, recurrent respiratory illness, ketotic hypoglycaemia and a tendency to hypothermia. He receives all his liquids and medication via his gastrostomy tube.
The role will involve providing 1:1 care and support for Oscar within his family home, implementing therapies, school pick-ups, play dates, taking Oscar to therapy activities
and most importantly having fun – these are just few of the duties. This position also includes supporting Oscar with his morning routine, getting ready for a busy day at school and attend to him if he requires any assistance at night. Oscar can become poorly quickly so we need someone who is confident in monitoring, recording and following procedures, and vigilant.
If you are energetic and love to play, then this is the role for you. Oscar is a charming young boy with lots of potential and he will be a real joy to work with. We are keen to find a candidate with a real passion for maximising this little boy’s potential. Training opportunities available.
Rota: Monday and Wednesday 2.00pm – 10.00pm followed by a sleeping night shift 10.00pm to 6.00am. Morning shift 6.00am – 9.00am. Additional shifts available from January 2019 (maternity cover). Hours could be flexible
Please note, whilst Snap endeavour to reply to all applications, some of our positions are so popular this is not possible and only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
