About this client/child:
Jack, 30, is a bright, charming man who is very active and has a zest for adventure. Jack and his wife are expecting their first child in March 2021 and are looking for 2 wonderful family workers who will support them during this exciting period. Jack has cerebral palsy which affects his mobility and causes tremors therefore he needs assistance with most of his daily tasks.
Overview of role:
This role will involve supporting the whole family with their daily routine, before and after the baby’s arrival. You will assist Jack with his personal care, be be responsible for keeping the house tidy, support his wife with various household tasks e.g. hoovering, emptying the dishwasher, taking rubbish out etc. As the Familly Support Worker, you’ll assist with nurseries duties and support Jack to be as involved as he would like to be, in the care of his baby. This is a job share role between two Family Support Workers. The hours available are Monday – Friday 3.00pm to 11.00pm and alternate weekends, 9.00am to 11.00pm. £16.00 gross per hour weekdays and £17.00 gros per hour weekends.

You must have excellent communication skills, be a team player and be happy to take direction. You’ll have good organizational skills and the ability to work on your own initiative is vital for this position. You will be able to judge when to step in and when to give the family their privacy.
