About this client/child:
Snap are looking for a temporary Christmas SEN Nanny to support Tom who will be turning 13 in January, alongside his cheeky and active 6-year-old brother William.  Tom is very engaged and charming: a sweet boy with a wonderfully silly sense of humour and a passion for fast motor vehicles! Tom has cerebral palsy and continues to make fantastic progress. He is gastrostomy fed and while his verbal communication has improved considerably, he still relies a lot on Makaton and he is an excellent signer!

Overview of role:
We are looking for a fun-loving SEN Nanny who is able to engage with both boys, use their own initiative, but equally be happy to work alongside mum and dad. There will be various activities planned, either in the home setting or out and about. The specific days and times the family are looking for are:

Monday 21st - 9.30am to 3.00pm
Thursday 24th - 9.30am to 1.00pm
Friday 25th - 9.30am to 1.00pm
Monday 28th - 9.30am to 5.00pm
Tuesday 29th - 9.30am to 3.00pm
Wednesday 30th - 9.30am to 3.00pm
Thursday 31st - 9.30am to 5.00pm
Friday 1st - 9.30am to 5.00pm

Who this job would suit:
This job will suit someone who is very caring, focused and on the ball. A good understanding of Makaton is key as this is Tom’s main form of communication. Prior experience with tube feeding would be a bonus, but the family are equally happy to train. The family would like the SEN Nanny to be available for a couple of paid shadow shifts before commencing in the role.

What’s great about this job:
We have placed numerous candidates with Tom over the years and to see the progress he continues to make, is just incredible.

Family met by Snap?
Yes, family are very well known to Snap.
