About this client/child:
Snap are looking for a temporary Christmas On-call Night SEN Nanny to support Tom who will be turning 13 in January, alongside his cheeky and active 6-year-old brother William.  Tom is very engaged and charming: a sweet boy with a wonderfully silly sense of humour and a passion for fast motor vehicles! Tom has cerebral palsy and continues to make fantastic progress. He is gastrostomy fed and while his verbal communication has improved considerably, he still relies a lot on Makaton and is an excellent signer!

Overview of role:
We are looking for a temporary SEN Nanny to be on call for Tom throughout the night. By the time the Night Nanny arrives, Tom will already be in bed, and generally wakes between 7.00am and 7.30am. You’ll help Tom with any toileting during the night (and occasionally administering pain medication). There is a bedroom, with an en-suite, across the hall from Tom with a camera/monitor so you can see and hear him and respond immediately should Tom cry out or ask for help. The family offer very generous rates of pay. £30.00 p/h during the week, £35.00 p/h during the weekend and £40.00 p/h on the evening of 25th December. Day rates are £19.00 p/h weekday/£25.00 p/h on weekends. All rates are gross per hour.

Who this job would suit:
This job will suit someone who is very caring, focused and on the ball. We are looking for a candidate with previous Night experience and a DBS registered on the Update Service. Experience with tube feeding would be a bonus.

What’s great about this job:
We have placed numerous candidates with Tom over the years and feedback has always been wonderful. To see the progress Tom continues to make is just incredible.

Family met by Snap?
Yes, we have worked with the family for many years.
