Dan is an active, sporty 25 year old young man who enjoys caring for animals, sports, skiing and an active, outdoor life. Dan has profound autism, is non-verbal and has epilepsy which is largely controlled by medication and lifestyle. Dan communicates using gestures and PECS and is supported on a 1:1 basis; 2:1 when out in the community.

His family have created a unique environment in rural Italy in which Dan flourishes. Dan has a full daily timetable to meet his needs: communication, on-going development, physical fitness, well-being and happiness.

We are seeking an additional team member who will relish the opportunity to support a delightful young man in a totally client-focussed way.

This position will be of great interest to someone who is interested in how the right, client-focussed environment can have a positive outcome for a young person with additional needs and alternative learning styles.

The family are sensitive to, and have great insight into Dan’s needs and have created an ideal schedule for him which the Personal Assistant / Support Worker will implement. The family will be responsive to hear your own ideas, but you must be happy to take instruction and understand the importance of maintaining consistency and following the established programme. To apply for this position please send your CV to Rachael at Snap who is working directly with the family.
