Rueben is a happy and smiley 21 month old boy who loves spending time outdoors – he can’t get enough of the fresh air! When he is at home one of his favourite things to do is listen to nursery rhymes. It has very recently come to light that Rueben is showing early signs of autism and developmental delay. He doesn’t recognise his name and can be very withdrawn at times. He has difficulty focusing on tasks and does tend to struggle with food. His parents have noticed that he can also become frustrated very easily, which can lead to some difficult behaviours.

This is a great position for a pro-active and confident nanny to become fully engaged in Rueben’s routine and promote his all-round development. You will focus on his social interactions and support him with his language. In the near future there will likely be other therapists/professionals involved so it will be important to liaise with all parties and implement strategies into his routine wherever possible. The family have a gorgeous holiday home in Cyprus so they tend to spread out their year between Cyprus and the UK. The family are currently in Cyprus and will be heading back to the UK at the end of March/beginning of April. They would be very keen to have someone join them in Cyprus ASAP.

This job will suit someone who is very experienced in the field of autism and is confident working with young children or toddlers. The family will be looking to you for guidance so someone who can use their own initiative and hit the ground running is a must. You will need to have flexibility in order to travel with the family.

This is wonderful opportunity to join a family who are at the beginning of their journey and where you can really make a positive impact whilst supporting Rueben with his continued development. Please apply with your CV and a supporting statement.
