About this client:
Our client Elaine is 44 years old and sustained an Acquired Brain Injury.  She requires round the clock support to live independently. Elaine lives in Leatherhead with her 21-year-old son and is supported by a 24-hour care team. Elaine has a great sense of humour and enjoys spending time out and about in the community. Elaine’s brain injury mainly affects her short-term memory which causes anxiety, low motivation and she can become anxious and reluctant when faced with new situations.

Overview of role:
Elaine requires prompting and support with personal care, stoma care (training provided), managing her health/wellbeing and accessing the community. All activities and engagement will be aimed at promoting independence, confidence, enhancing self-esteem and enabling Elaine to live a positive and happy life.

Who this job would suit:
Elaine requires a mature female* support worker with similar interests and enjoys being out and about in the community. An experienced support worker who has previously worked with an adult client with additional needs is highly desirable, but the ability to connect with, and engage Elaine and her family, are the most important factors.

What’s great about this job:
Working with Elaine is great fun and you will have the opportunity to share her journey as she continues to explore her independence, and develop her role as a mother. In addition, you will have access to fantastic training opportunities and will be supported by a wonderful case manager.
