About this client/child:
Our client Charbel is 25 years old, he sustained a severe Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) following a road traffic accident just over 3 years ago. Charbel has made a remarkable recovery thanks to his determination and strength, he has been wholly supported on his truly amazing recovery journey by his loving and faithful family. Charbel communicates using a letterboard, voice, and phone. He is committed to engaging in his therapy and continues to exceed expectations in relation to his recovery.  Charbel is currently a wheelchair user and continues to improve his strength and physical abilities with regular physio and hydrotherapy. He also has OT and Speech Therapy. Charbel requires 2:1, 24-hour support. He has a PEG for medication and fluids but eats his meals and some fluids orally, so it is hoped that this will be removed at some point in the future.  

Overview of role:
Charbel requires an experienced waking night carer to join his team on a full-time, permanent basis. In this role you will assist Charbel with all his personal and self-care needs, transfers, manual handling, administering medications, and tending to all his care needs throughout the night. This is a 2:1 role, a sleeping night carer is on hand if you or Charbel require additional support. It is essential that you can commit to working weekdays and weekends, the rota is provided 4 weeks in advance.

Who this job would suit:
An experienced, proactive, and sensitive Waking Night Carer. It is essential that you are a confident driver and can drive an adapted, automatic vehicle. We do require a Waking Night Carer that is comfortable assisting during hydrotherapy sessions if working additional hours during the day. Nonsmoker/ vaper also essential.
