Title: SEN Support Worker
Location: Walton-on-Thames, KT12

Wage/Salary: £16.00 Weekdays, £18.00 Weekends gross per hour

Days & Hours: 30 hours per week (more if desired), will include working a waking night shift and every second weekend

About this client/child:
Cillian is 17 years old and lives at home with his Mum, Dad and 14-year-old brother. He is a cheeky chap with a love for music (any genre), disco parties in his therapy room, reading stories, watching funny movies, all things sensory, going out for walks, hydrotherapy (hydro pool at family home) and spending time with his family and friends. He is a fun-loving, sociable, and engaging young man at the heart of a loving family and dedicated support team. Cillian has cerebral palsy, he is a wheelchair user, has a visual impairment, epilepsy, global development delay and receives his nutrition, fluids, and medication via a PEG. Cillian has an opening on his care team which provides 1:1 and at times 2:1 support and care including waking night support.

Overview of role:
Cillian has an established routine in place and a jam-packed schedule that consists of therapy, school, activities, etc. As Cillian’s SEN Support Worker, you will follow his care plan and assist him in all areas of his ADLs, personal care needs, manual handling, medication, PEG feed (Mum prepares feeds), therapy, and enabling his to access the world around him and participate in activities. Due to Cillian’s visual impairment, he needs clear communication to be prepared for what is happening. With his seizures, they are usually tonic; protocols are in place and training is provided. When working a waking night, you will monitor Cillian via CCTV and assist as required with repositing, seizure management etc. The rota is provided 1 month in advance. Shifts can be changed to suit your availability, we are looking for the right fit for Cillian and his team, and that is paramount. Shifts include: 7.00am to 9.45am (only suitable if local) and after school 2.45pm – 10.00pm and weekends: 7.00am to 1.00pm, or 4.00pm to 10.00pm. Waking nights: 10.00pm to 7.00am. Shift times can be changed to suit your availability, we are looking for the right fit for Cillian and his team, and that is paramount.
