Desirable: Prior experience working in a family setting and cooking Skills
Start Date: January 2020
Days & Hours: Term Time Core Hours: Monday to Friday 7.00 am to 9.00 am & 3.30 pm to 6.30 pm. You will be paid a weekly average of 35 hours a week (to cover term time and school holidays). Flexibility to increase this to 40 hours a week with additional housekeeping duties. Additional babysitting hours also available.

About this client/child:
Alex aged 7 is an active, bright and playful 7-year-old boy who is on the autistic spectrum. He particularly enjoys Lego, running and swimming. Alex is high functioning and very capable; his main difficulties are with his speech so finding someone who has a good command of spoken English will be very important. Alex attends mainstream education and is making fantastic progress.
Overview of role:
The SEN Nanny / Manny will be in charge of Alex’s daily routine throughout the year. This will include school drop off /pick up, supporting with homework, activities / playtime and bath time. During the school holidays there is more opportunity to plan additional activities and this is really encouraged. The family are really looking for someone who can spend quality time with Alex and help promote his overall development. There will also be additional housekeeping duties related to Alex, such as laundry (ironing when needed), general tidying, managing play dates or activity schedules, as well as haircut appointments, minor shopping (birthday cards, school essentials) and some minor doctor appointments, when needed.

This role will suit someone who has a warm, talkative and engaging personality. Alex will respond well to someone who has a playful nature and someone who is quite creative. You must have a good understanding of autism and excellent communication skills to be able to support Alex to reach his full potential.
