About this client/child:
George is a kind and friendly 7 year old who enjoys swimming, performing arts, football, reading and roleplay. His younger sister Emily is a playful and cheeky 4 year old who adores her older brother. They both enjoy spending time together and play well. George has ASC, some proprioceptive and vestibular sensory issues. He attends Occupational Therapy sessions weekly and has Speech and language at home weekly.

Overview of role:
We are looking for someone to support George and Emily after school, including collecting them from (the same) school and bringing them home. A key part of your role will be assisting George with his homework and the additional activities set by his therapists and implementing these within his usual routine. For example encouraging the use of cutlery, button fastening, letter and number formation and help with his speech and language programme. Emily should be included in these activities as much as possible; she’s a great motivator for George! There will also be weekly play dates which you will be facilitating. The family are keen for the SEN Nanny /Manny to also promote independence and life skills as much as possible.

Who this job would suit:
This is a busy household and we are looking for a level-headed and confident candidate who can build a caring relationship with the children and hit the ground running. This position would suit outgoing and confident candidate with a genuine interest helping children to reach their full potential. You should have a pro-active approach with prior autism experience and a keen interest in implementing therapy and reinforcing activities.

What’s great about this job:
This is a great opportunity to make a valuable contribution to both George’s and Emily’s life whilst supporting their on-going development. This is very welcoming and friendly family, met by Rachael, will really value your feedback and appreciate someone who can bring new ideas and strategies to the table.
