Andrew is 11 years old and has been in a home programme for over 5 years. He has verbal dyspraxia, fine motor skill dyspraxia, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, colitis and food allergies. He enjoys fun and active learning.

We are seeking an experienced SEN secondary teacher who will create an educational programme to support Andrew in accessing as much of the national curriculum as possible and achieve, where possible, appropriate age related targets in key areas such as numeracy and literacy and school related skills. The teacher would need to be pro-active and use their initiative to support Andrew in accessing appropriate group activities. Detailed knowledge of the curriculum and how to deliver GCSE, IGCSE, ASDAN, Entry Level and Functional Skills qualifications for students with SEN will be essential.

You will develop, adapt and implement a specific learning programme for Andrew’s learning needs and implement techniques from his therapists, including speech and language and occupational therapy.  As Andrew finds it easier to learn using a multi-sensory approach you will be creative and have the ability to 'think outside the box' when it comes to teaching.

This job will suit an empathetic, caring and passionate candidate who enjoys working within a family home and providing 1:1 support. A truly rewarding position and opportunity to work with this fantastic little boy and his dedicated team.
