Lucas is a bright, interactive and happy 6-year-old boy who requires lots of love and attention. Lucas loves to cook in his toy kitchen, story time, going to the playground and swimming. Due to a difficult birth Lucas was diagnosed with Dystonic Cerebral Palsy. Lucas will need support with all of his personal care needs, including help with his potty training and bathing before bed.
Lucas can vocalise a few small words such as ‘Mama’, ‘Dada’ and ‘Ja, otherwise he uses a communication book and some sign language. A key part of the role will be to support Lucas with all play and therapy activities, including supporting the family with Lucas’ physio exercises and organising appointments. Lucas is fed orally and training will be provided on how to feed him.
This job will suit someone who is fun and has lots of energy - Lucas will certainly keep you on your toes. Lucas is currently being home schooled so the SEN Nanny will be guided in how to support him. Lucas needs someone who will motivate and encourage him to reach his full potential. This will be a mixture of shared and sole charge so you must be adaptable as and when needed.
There are many great opportunities with this job. As well as working with a very supportive family and case manager, who will provide full training and inductions, Lucas is also at the prime age where you can make a huge impact on his development and help with his therapy input. There may also be travel opportunities with the family. To apply to this role please send your CV to Rachael at Snap.
Please note, whilst Snap endeavour to reply to all applications, some of our positions are so popular this is not possible and only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
