This is an exciting opportunity for a support worker to join a well-established care team to assist a lovely 17 year old young man called Callum. Callum is autistic, has epilepsy and a significant learning difficulty. He is dependent upon his care team for all aspects of personal care and to keep him safe. (There are two members of staff on each shift).

Callum lives part-time at home with his mother, father and two brothers. He attends a residential school placement for 44 weeks of the year and so requires homecare and support every other weekend and for part of the school holidays (approximately 8 weeks a year). *With regards to the hours the Support Worker would not be expected to work the whole weekend shift. Each month the available shifts are sent out to the team for them to confirm their availability. During the summer holidays Callum just comes home for two weeks, generally the first two in August.

Callum is reliant on his Support Workers to undertake activities that offer him a balance of sensory stimulation, community inclusion and personal enrichment; including swimming, attending day centres or local playgrounds. Part of your role will be to continue to build Callum’s self-esteem, confidence and promote his independence. The Support Worker will work to agreed goals and play their part in therapeutic programmes. Full training and supervision is provided.

This role will suit someone who can offer a degree of flexibility to meet Callum’s personal care, nutritional, medical and leisure needs. You must also be a good communicator and comfortable to work as part of team. To apply please send your CV to Rachael at Snap.

Please note, whilst Snap endeavour to reply to all applications, some of our positions are so popular this is not possible and only shortlisted candidates will be contacted
