About this client/child:
Maria (5) is a delightful and sociable little girl. She enjoys musical, sensory and vestibular play, cause and effect games and water-based activities including swimming. Maria has a motor disorder affecting all four limbs, microcephaly and global developmental delay. She has epilepsy, severe reflux and gastrostomy and jejunostomy tubes. She also requires oral suctioning. Maria is fully dependent on others with all aspects of daily living.

Overview of role:
You will be responsible for supporting Maria through personal care routines, any required therapy exercises, accompanying her out and organising fun activities she can engage in. You will be required to work closely with Maria’s family and her multidisciplinary team, so being a team player is essential. Saturday and Sunday 8.00am – 8.00pm, additional hours available during school holidays. Waking nights also available.   Hourly rate is £16.00 gross per hour weekends.

Who this job would suit:
This role would suit confident, energetic and positive support worker who has experience working with young children with complex medical care needs. Ideally you will have experience of Peg feeding and suctioning, but training is provided.
