Start Date: ASAP

Accommodation (while on duty): Good sized double bedroom with en-suite. Additional use of an adult sitting room which is used rarely by the family.

We are looking for a well-established, emotionally robust and confident SEN Nanny / Manny to support a family in their time of need. The family are currently experiencing a difficult time and the older two children, aged 9 and 6, are displaying complex and challenging behaviour. Both boys are bright and enjoy activities such as football, swimming and Lego. Bertie is 18 month old and will be attending a nursery part-time to allow more 1:1 time with the older boys.

On the days you work, you will be living in the family home where you will have use of a double sized bedroom with en-suite. All three children have their own needs of course, but the key focus will initially be with Thomas. It is believed he is showing signs of trauma and possible attachment disorder. He has had sensory issues for some time and more recently has presented with some significant challenging behaviours. He also shows some signs of mild autism and ADHD.

A key part of your role will be working closely with the family to re-establish clear boundaries and routines for the older boys and introduce them to Bertie. Thomas isn’t currently attending school so this will be one of the first issues to address. You’ll work closely with other professionals to implement therapy programmes. The family’s current Nanny will be working with them until August so there will be a good handover period and the opportunity to work together initially.

As well as the Nursery and School drop offs and collections, the role will also include general duties to ensure the household is running smoothly, whilst helping to provide a nurturing and happy environment for the children. Although a long day, there will be quiet periods when all the children are at nursery/school to allow you to re-charge your batteries.

This job will suit someone who is emotionally robust, calm, consistent and organised as well as encompassing a fun approach. This is a hands on role but will be a great opportunity to make a real difference to family life. If you have the right skills and expertise to support this family please contact Rachael at Snap who can provide further information.
