About this client:
Thomas, 9 is a lovely and happy young man. He enjoys being outside, likes trains and motorbikes and absolutely adores swimming and any water-based activity. Thomas has lower limb spinal muscularatrophy, epilepsy and profound developmental delay. He is fully dependent on others with all his needs, is non-verbal however can express his likes and dislikes. Thomas has two brothers aged 11 and 4, who he loves engaging, and spending time with.
Overview of role:
Your role will be to support Thomas with his after-school routine, providing personal care, assisting with meals preparation, bath time and organising fun activities and outings for all the boys. Light household tasks are required. Working hours are Monday – Friday 3:00pm to 7:30pm, there might be an opportunity to work additional hours in school holidays and at weekends. In total 22.5 – 25 hours per week. The hourly rate is £14.00 - £16.00 gross per hour depending on experience.

This role will suit a confident, friendly and engaging candidate with a genuine interest supporting children with additional needs. A swimmer is preferable. You will be flexible and be able to multi-task and ‘pitch in’ as and when needed.You will be happy to work alongside Thomas’s parents as well as taking sole charge and engaging with all 3 boys.
