We are looking for a reliable and fun loving *Female Support Worker to assist Laura aged 34 in her family home. Laura was born 6 weeks prematurely and had a difficult start to life. Laura has a happy disposition, but she is unaware of danger and needs 1:1 supervision.  She has limited mobility but is able to walk, although with a little difficulty. Although she has limited vocal output, Laura can make her needs and feelings known and understands more than one would first realise.

You’ll take Laura to a day centre in Stamford Hill each morning. You’ll then collect Laura just before 4.00pm and accompany her to further activities or appointments four afternoons a week, this could include Yoga, Art, cooking classes & physiotherapy; routines do sometime vary.

During the winter months, the day centre operates a half a day so Laura needs to be collected by 1.00pm taken home and engaged with activities. Occasionally on a Friday evening Laura will join her Mum at her Aunt’s house which is close by, she will be left with her Mum and then collected sometime later.

You’ll encourage Laura’s continued progress in her everyday life, helping her achieve her maximum potential. Communication is an important part of this role and Laura needs someone who will engage in her favourite activities, as well as provide support during meal times and bedtime routines. Previous knowledge and use of PECs would be beneficial but not essential. Training from the family will be provided. To apply for this position please contact Rachael at Snap.

Please note, whilst Snap endeavour to reply to all applications, some of our positions are so popular this is not possible and only shortlisted candidates will be contacted
