Samuel, 11, is a fun-loving, engaging and mischievous chap who enjoys bike rides, swimming and playing games with his siblings. Samuel has cerebral palsy, is a wheelchair user and communicates using his computer; he requires support with all his care needs. Everyone who meets Samuel is quite captivated by him; he is a pleasure to work with.
Samuel is a very bright, independent and determined young man who knows what he wants and is very capable of expressing his needs. You’ll support Samuel with his personal care, manual handling, therapy, day time activities, play dates, and education.
You’ll need to be able to work alongside other members of the care team, including from time to time Samuel's parents. In this role you’ll have the opportunity to work with Samuel's therapists, implementing their programmes and working towards his goals. Samuel requires a strong and robust support worker who will act as his advocate within social activities and settings. Most of all Samuel needs a person he can have fun with whilst also promoting his independence and giving the encouragement he needs to reach his full potential.
*Term time Monday to Friday 4.00pm – 9.00pm
School holidays and Weekends: Monday – Sunday 9.00am – 9.00pm
On-call Nights: Monday to Sunday 9.00pm – 9.00am (7.00am – 9.00am morning routine)
