Paul is 10 years old and has cerebral palsy, epilepsy, complex medical care needs. He uses gestures, sounds and facial expressions to make his needs known however he is dependent on others to meet all his care needs. Paul is supported at home by a fantastic team of support workers providing 24/7 care. He is at the center of a loving and supportive family; living at home with his mum, younger brother.
Paul loves to be included in all family activities, he enjoys sensory stimulation such as swimming, listening to music and outdoor play particularly in his wheelchair swing. Paul has his own hydrotherapy pool at home and he requires support in the water so it is essential you’re confident supporting clients in hydrotherapy. The successful support worker will receive training in all aspects of Paul’s care and in the implementation of his therapy programmes.
Shifts available, 38 hours per week working a mixture of these shifts. These are the shifts that are available on a rota basis: *Term-time Monday to Friday 3.30pm – 8.00pm. Monday to Sunday Nights: 8.00pm – 8.30am. Weekends:- Saturday 10.00am – 8.00pm, Sunday 8.30am – 8.00pm. School holidays Monday to Friday 10.00am – 8.00pm
This position as a support worker is offering 38 hours per week, working a mixture of shifts including nights, shift times above*. Experience supporting a client with complex care needs is essential as is the ability to work within a family setting.
